Located in proximity to city centre, the apartment is also close to the Montjuic Hill and Plaza España. A short trip of 3 metro stops will take you to Plaza Cataluña – the heart of Barcelona where vibrant Las Ramblas starts. At the same time one metro stop journey will take you to Plaza España that houses Fira de Barcelona Fair centre, Magic Fountains and National Palace.
The district Eixample is often divided for practical purposes in two parts - Esquerra de l'Eixample and Dreta de l'Eixample (left and right sides of Eixample, respectively). The sides referring to their position relative to the Passeig de Gracia, one of the city's two most cosmopolitan avenues. This spacious apartment is located in Esquerra de L´Exaimple – its left side.
Eixample is rather well-to-do neighbourhood, especially around the central areas such as Passeig de Gràcia, Rambla de Cataluña and the Avenue Gaudi/Sagrada Familia vicinity. Traditionally popular with the rich and famous, the district also has a significant immigrant population.
Passeig de Gracia is an important commercial artery of the city; it overflows with boutiques, deluxe shops and world known franchises. You can easily reach in by metro or by bus.
Take a Tombus (special shop bus) that follows the shopping route of Barcelona if your intention is shop a lot.
Architecturally, Eixample is famed for its modernist buildings, many designed by one of the world's most original architects, Antonio Gaudi. His art nouveau architecture is exemplified the delightful Sagrada Familia church, started in 1882 and still not finished, and the entire area is rich in other 'modernista' work and a heaven for lovers of architecture. You must also visit the Casa Mila, also by Gaudi, designed in the biomorphism style decades before the term was used for this style of architecture. Also named La Pedrera (The Quarry), the house is open to the public and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Works of Antonio Gaudí".
Frequent public transport will take you to the centre of the city just in few minutes so that you also can explore Las Ramblas avenue and old city neighbourhoods -Barrio Gotico, El Borne and Raval.
At Sants Estació railway station which is located 2 metro stops from the apartment you can also take a train that gets you to the El Prat airport in 20 minutes.
