Barcelona Record Collectors Fair 2010 October 1 – 3
Vinyl lovers check out the 10th edition of Barcelona largest fair for record collectors. Over the years it has been estimated at previous fairs that 2 million albums, records and CDs have traded hands and this year more of the same is to be expected in addition to a rare music and memorabilia auction.

13th Annual Barcelona Tattoo Expo October 1 – 3
A three-day event dedicated to the world of tattoos. If you’ve ever though about getting one or if you are true blue tattoo fanatic expect to see top artists ‘’ink’’ up willing individuals, cool tattoo art competitions and learn new techniques in one of oldest practiced forms of self-adornment.

Barcelona Air Show October 2 – 3
The weather is still lovely in Barcelona this time of year so taking in a few rays on the beach while watching daredevil airplane acrobatics is a fun way to spend a warm fall day at the Festa al Cel, Barcelona’s 19th Annual International Airshow.

Eme3 2010 Architectural Festival October 6 – 10
In its 5th year, the eme3 festival in Barcelona brings together artists, students, professionals and academics to discuss the present and future state of architecture as well as the role of the architect in society. Expect debates, roundtable discussions and workshops.

Sitges Film Festival 2010 October 7 – 17
Back again for its 43rd edition, the Sitges 10 – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia is in fact, one of the oldest festivals in all of Spain starting in 1968. Today, it is heralded as an important festival for exposing local talent, many of whom have gone on to work internationally. It might not be Cannes however a few stars do show up and there is, as always the spooky Zombie Walk, which will take place on the last Saturday of the 10-day event.

Regal FC Barcelona vs. Los Angeles Lakers October 7
The reining NBA champions Los Angeles Lakers will be coming to battle the European league champions, Regal FC Barcelona. No doubt this will be an exciting matchup of talent and skill as both teams play a repeat match that had the Lakers edging out FC 114 to 108 on their home turf in the U.S.

Massive Attack Concert October 7
The cult electro band duo from Britain will perform their latest series of moody, electronic dance hits at the Pavello Olimpic for hundreds of adoring fans. Considered one of the most important British bands of the 90’s Massive Attack put a cutting edge spin on soul music and invented the Trip Hop genre of music.

Brandon Flowers Concert October 8
Lead singer and keyboardist from the chart-topping band the Killers, Brandon Flowers will be performing in Barcelona as a solo artist presenting his new album ‘’Flamingo’’ and the new single sensation ‘’Crossfire’’ released last September.

Dia de la Hispanidad October 12
Today is the National Day of Spain and is a public holiday all throughout Spain. Also for history buffs this is the anniversary that Columbus supposedly arrived in the Americas (October 12, 1942). In other words, it’s Spain’s Columbus Day.
Aha Concert October 15
Who didn’t love these Norwegians that burst onto the music scene in the 80’s with the their hit ‘’Take on Me?’’ The MTV generation most likely has their animated sketch video burned into their memory. Well, the band went on to enjoy continued success with a few breaks along the way however 2010 sees the official end of Aha with their final ‘’Ending on a High Note’’ tour, which stops in Barcelona. Don’t miss out on seeing them perform one last time.

Barcelona International Walk October 16 - 17
The Caminada Internacional de Barcelona is an annually held two-day event that allows participants to visit Barcelona on foot and get fit at the same time. The walking event has three routes covering 10, 20 or 30 km distances all passing by historic highlights and sights throughout Barcelona. Lace up your walking shoes!

Guns N’Roses October 23

Mediterrani Marathon 2010 October 24
As it is more commonly known locally, the ‘’Marato del Mediterrani’’ is a popular race day for running enthusiasts in the area. Just outside of Barcelona the day actually includes three race that includes a marathon, half-marathon and a 10k open to the general public. The various routes all run along the Mediterranean sea promising spectacular views as runners pass through the seaside towns of Castelldefels, Gava and Sitges.

Sting Concert October 29
Get stung by the legendary music man Sting. The guy always puts on a stellar performance and undoubtedly he won’t disappoint bringing along the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra to play along. All of his greatest and most-loved hits like ‘’Every Breath You Take’’ and ‘’Roxanne,’’ have been given an orchestra once-over and reinterpretations of the songs led by Maestro Steven Mercurio will be played.
